Christmas ornament FFO

I have been working on fully finishing Christmas ornaments this week.  Yesterday I fully finished one with 6 more that I have started fully finishing.

Designer:  Punochka
Dessign: Christmas Woodpecker
from the 2022 Just Cross Stitch ornament issue
Fabric:  scrap from my stash
Floss:  DMC called for
1st Stitch: 06/01/2023 - Last Stitch: 06/14/2023
For:  Bob & me
Notes:  This was my June Christmas ornament.  I was just going to put this in my bag of stitched ornament for future Christmas gifts.  When I showed it to Bob he really liked it and said we should keep it for us.  So it is ours.

I have the 6 ornaments for Matt, Kayla, Emily, Laura, Hanna and Jessi all sewed together, turned, and stuffed.  I have one closed in the back and just have to sew the other 5 closed, then, I'll add the bows, snowflaake button and year charm.  Hopefully they will be done in the next couple of days.

I have 13 ornaments stitched and waiting for finishing.  I have decided to stitch 13 more.  That will give me 26 ornaments stitched.  At 6 per year that will take me through the age of 80.  At that point I will stop giving the Greats ornaments.

I have a finish

Yesterday I finished the stitching on PS 1997 yearly Santa.  I started him and 3 others in May of 2022.  The other 3 are stitched.  So glad they are all done.  Don't get me wrong there are many more Santas in the project bag that I want to stitch when I can find the time.

Designer:  Prairie Schooler - Design:  1997 Yearly Santa

Fabric:  16CT Heatherfield Lambswool - Floss:  DMC

1st Stitch:  02/02/2022 - Last Stitch:  07/24/2023

For:  Me

Notes:  The alphabet was supposed to be stitched in the same color as the blocks Santa is holding but they didn't show up on the fabric. so I changed them to green.

Now I hope to make Lizzie Kate Sister's Forever my afternoon stitch and continue to stitch on Sherlock Holmes in the evening.  I was doing the backstitch on page 2 but I couldn't concentrate on it so I started the xs on page 3.   I think I am getting bored with Sherlock since I have been stitching him since November of 2022.  Maybe once it cools down a little I will have more interest in stitching him.

Works in Progress

I have been stitching on Sherlock Holmes and Prairie Schooler 1997 Yearly Santa this week.  I finished the Xs on page 2 of Sherlock Holmes and have started the backstitching.  Although I have no enthusiasm for the backstitching and have skipped a few days of stitching this past week.  I don't like to backstitch, and it has been so hot I just seem to vegetate.  Today is the 8-month anniversary of Sherlock.  I'd like to put him away for a little while, but I am afraid if I do I will never finish him and I am so close.

I had a busy July 4th finishing a couple of smalls and finishing the stitching on a Prairie Schooler Santa.  Bob and I also sat out on the back porch and enjoyed a Dark & Stormy together.  It tasted so good.

Snowflake #2
Fully finished 07/04/2023
This is my prototype to see if I like this in a diamond shape.
I think it turned out pretty good so I will do the other 6 the same way

Fabric:  Heatherfield Lambswool
Floss:  DMC
1st Stitch:  05/09/2022
Last Stitch:  07/04/2023

Notes:  I started this as a 5 in May last year.  5 new starts on each Monday in May.  It only took me
a couple of hours to finish it yesterday afternoon.  How appropriate that I finished the
stitching on July 4th.  I think I will be be sending this to Faye Riggsbee the Carolina Stitcher to have this finished.  Maybe a standup if there is enough fabric at the top or a flatfold.

An early July finish

I saw someone on Facebook stitching this for her sisters so I decided to stitch it for Barb and Shirley.  I finished Barb 's yesterday and will start Shirley's in a few weeks.

Designer:  Lizzie Kate
Design: Sister's Forever
Fabric:  16CT Natural Lite Aida
Floss:  Called for - While I used all the called for floss I didn't necessarily use it in the
called for places.  The two light pink flowers were supposed to be yellow.
1st Stitch:  06/24/2023
Last Stitch:  7/2/2023
For:  Barb
Notes:  I will be sending this to Faye Riggsbee the Carolina Stitcher to be finished into
a flat fold.

Now for my afternoon stitching I am going to finish a PS yearly Santa that I started in May of 2022 and get that finished.  After that is finished, I will stitch another Sister's Forever for Shirley.  I am stilly plugging away on Sherlock Holmes.  I almost have to push myself to work on it each day.
