Snowflake Poem Finished into a pillow top

I stitched this Snowflake Poem in 2009. I don't know who the designer is or what the name of the chart actually is. I started it in December so I could take it to Paris to stitch (it is stitched in one color so that eliminated the need to take multible colors of floss) on the plane over and back.  I also stitched on it while Bob showered and one afternoon that I spent in the hotel room because I was sick.  I finished it on the plane coming home.  I have been thinking about making it into a pillow top for several years and I finally finished it this morning.

I didn't post a picture last week, I just didn't have much progress.  Not a lot this week either but I thought I would post some pictures.  I have also been working on Baby's First Christmas ornament for Rob & Laycee's baby who is due in early August.

I completed page 2 of Bridge in Monet's Garden and another patrotic ornament this week. It took me over a month to finish page 2 of Monet't Garden.  The pictures aren't the greatest but you can get the idea of what they look like.

I started Baby's First Christmas ornament this week for my niece's son and his wife.  Their baby is due in early August.  I am thinking that instead of Baby's I will put the baby's name.  That way it will say Noah's First Christmas (Noah is the proposed name of the baby) and then I would like to fit the year in somewhere.  I have also crocheted a couple of dishcloths this past week.  I really need to learn how to crochet something other than dishcloths.  I now have a whole drawer full.  What will I ever do with them?  I read somewhere about a woman who kept getting yarn from chuch members, friends and family and when she died they found over 5000 dishcloths in her closet.  She kept crocheting them and just put them in the closet.  My nieces would have a heart attack if they found all those dishcloths hoarded away in my house.  Besides I don't have a closet to spare.

I have a busy week this coming week.  Monday the A/C is getting it's yearly service, Tuesday I have a hair dresser's appointment for a perm, Wednesday I am working and Friday Shirley and I are going to Barb's to take her out to lunch or dinner for her birthday which was on June 9th.

Bridge in Monet's Garden update

Here is my weekly picture of Bridge in Monet's Garden.  I had a little setback this week.  I made a mistake and had to frog a portion  and redo.  What a mess.  I need to be much more careful in the future.  It is almost impossible to go back and figure out the mistake and then fix it.  Anyhow I am still working on page 2.  I am almost finished with another patriotic ornament and should finish the stitching this afternoon if I get off this computer and go stitch.

We had a great day yesterday.  It was our annual picnic for the Saturday Night Group.  Gerry came up from Delaware, his son and DIL just presented he and his wife with their first grandchild. A beautiful baby boy, he had pictures with him.  His wife, Rose, didn't come to the picnic and she wanted to spend some time with the new baby.  I don't blame her in the least.  Anyway the food was wonderful, the weather was perfect, and spending time with our friends was priceless.  After we ate, bruchetta with pesto and tomato, pretzels with raspberry-mustard pretzel dip, nuts, pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, broccoli salad, potato salad, and fresh fruit and blueberry crumble cookies one couple showed pictures of their trip to South Korea.  They adopted their youngest son from S. Korea and about a year or so ago he decided he wanted to go back to South Korea and try to find his birth mother.  Now he has decided to stay another year so it was their opportunity to see the country of their son's birth.  They only saw Seoul but they had a great time and the pictures were wonderful. 

OK off to stitch.  I would like to get my ornament finished today, well the stitching done, and then tomorrow I will make it into an ornament.

I am working on Wednesday.  So that cuts down the time I have this week to do what I want/need to do but it will be more money towards my sofa.
