Sherlock Holmes is finished

 I finished the backstitching on Sherlock Holmes yesterday while watching a Phillies game.  It took me about 8 months to finish the stitching.  After I finished it yesterday, I washed it and ironed ti partially dry and then I showed it to Bob.  This is the 1st time in about 6 months that he has seen it.

I continue to do the backstitching on Sherlock Holmes.  I only spend about 30 minutes a day on it so it is going to take me a while.  I should have the backstitching on page 2 finished today or tomorrow.  Then all that is left is page 3.  Hopefully by next Monday it will be finished.

Update on Sherlock Holmes

 I have finished the cross stitching on Sherlock Holmes.  All the remains to be done is the backstitching on pages 2,3, and 4.  I won't be stitching on this again before Thursday.  Susan is here for a visit and she will be leaving on Thursday morning.  I can't stitch on backstitching while she is her 'cause I wouldn't be able to concentrate.  She likes to talk which is fine since we don't see each other very often.

I dread doing the backstitching, but I do love how he is turning out.  I can't wait for Bob to see him.  He sits right next to me while I am stitching on this project and hasn't looked at it since the bottom section was stitched.  He wants to wait and see it all done.

 I'm glad I made an extra one of these that at the moment I plan on keeping for me.  I posted it in an earlier post.  It is white with variegated blue floss.  Now I kind of wish I had done them all white with blue floss although I do like them in the different colors with ecru DMC.

 I didn't stitch a Christmas ornament in July.  I was supposed to be finishing the Snowflake Christmas ornaments.  I git 2 fully finished and the other 4 are almost done.  Today I will be starting my August ornament. I have one all kitted up but I don't feel like stitching that one.  I think I am going to start a Prairie Schooler from A Merry Mini Suprise, Book #215.  8 mini Santas.  Before I start stitching I plan on finishing 2 more of the Snowflake ornaments.
