Pictures of the P-38 Lightning

This is a picture of my current WIP. It is a P-38 Lightning. I bet you could tell that just by looking at my progress right? lol It is stitched on 14 count Blue Dynasty from Silkwevers. This is for Bob since we all know he loves WWII airplanes. It is a real pain to stitch as there are lots of fractiional stitches. I can't believe the chart calls for Aida but it does. I was actually suprised when I took the picture at how much progress I have made and that it is actually starting to look like an airplane. I stitch for a little everynight and when I am done I just fold it up but don't really look at it. I have to say I love stitching on this fabric. It is sooooo soft.

More pictures of my office.

Here are the other pictures I took of my finished office. I still have pictures to hang but I am waiting for my Catia Dias Patchwork Sampler to come back from the framer. I do have one picture I want to hang that is from Bob's Mom's apartment but I can't decide where I want to put it. Other than those 2 pictures I think I will wait and just hang things I stitch. I do have a shelf over the desk which has a wedding picture and a quilt post card which I got from an Internet friend and of course my bear TY beanie babies.

I have been stitching on the P-38 but it is a slow stitch. I should take a picture of it just to show my progress. I am also stitching Love Letters which I think I am going to put our initials on and then 1985 - 2010 for our 25th Anniversary.

Bob went out to dinner tonight with Pete and another guy. It was nice, I had breakfast for dinner - fried eggs, toast, spinach salad and the remainder of the ice cream Shirley sent over for Easter dinner. Yumm I like having breakfast for dinner and Bob doesn't like it at all. So this was a nice treat for me.

This is a picture of my new office with my new computer desk. I love it. I got some material to make a new cover for the pillow on my desk chair. Goofy me I forgot to get thread. The fabric is burgundy, gold and white stripped. I will get the thread on Tuesday night so maybe next weekend I can make the pillow cover. I have some other pictures which I will post later. I love this little room. I keep forgetting my computer is down here and go into the guest room often to get on the computer. I am such a creature of habit.

Bob and I are going to a retirement party this afternoon. We were suppose to leave 10 minutes ago but he is still upstairs. I can't believe it takes him longer to get ready then it does me.

Our Inernet

I know this is getting to be a boring subject. Verizon came on Saturday morning to find out what the problem was with our Internet. The electrician made a mistake. It took the Verizon tech about 5 minutes to fix the problem. YEAH we have the Internet back.

I have been stitching a little but I just can't seem to concentrate for very long. I worked on Mill Hill Frosty for about 10 minutes this morning and that was all I could stitch. I am almost finished with it and I just don't seem to have any desire to stitch on it or anything else.

Bob is on vacation this week so it is so hard to get up and come to work while he is still in bed. He started straightening out the garage yesterday. I wonder if he will ever get finished. He just seems to wonder from one thing to another and never finishes anything. It is a puzzlement to me that someone who is such a perfectionist just can't concentrate on one thing long enough to get it finished.

My Inernet saga continued.

I left work yesterday at 12:30 because Verizon was suppose to come between 1:00 and 5:00 to fix my no Internet problem. I got home about 12:50 to find a message from Verizon whch they left at 8:20 in the morning. Because I was not there to confirm that I would be home between 1:00 and 5:00 I would have to call and reschedule the appointment. Needless to say I was livid. It didn't help that it was almost 1:00 and I was hungary as I normally eat lunch at 11:30. I immediately called them to insist that they come out that afternoon. No deal. They kept telling me that could come on Thursday. After telling me that 3 times I lost my cool and asked them what part of I took vacation time this afternoon because a tech was scheduled to come between 1:00 and 5:00 today. I can't take another vacation day tomorrow. I finally told them they could come next week as Bob is on vacation and scheduled the tech for 1st thing Monday morning which them became before 2:oo on Monday. I insisted that they give me a credit for the time my Internet was going to be down so they said OK they would give me a credit from Saturday until Wednesday. Wait a minute my Internet is going to be out until Monday so what happens to Thursday through Monday. They finally agreed to give me a credit from Saturday until Monday. I will believe that when I see it. Anyway after I got off the phone with Verizon I called Bob at work to let him know even though I thought he was in training. He was at his desk and he was just as mad as I had been and he called Verizon to complain that we had a scheduled appointment between 1:00 and 5:00 on Wednesday with no indication from the person he talked to on Tuesday night that they would be calling to confirm that someone would be home. Well that got him no where. He finally got them to change the Monday appointment to Saturday. Again I will believe it when I see the tech there. OK I am done venting this. But it is now more than 24 hours since I talked to them yesterday and it still makes me angry.

What a Week!!

On Saturday Bob moved my computer down to the new office and hooked it all up. We booted it up and tried to get on the Internet. We had no Internet. He spent about an hour on the phone with Verizon. They indicated we had service into the router so therefore the router must be bad. They would be sending us a new router. On top of that we had another virus on the computer.

On Sunday, Easter, we had invited Bob's Aunt Ruth, Miriam and Shirley and Rich for Easter dinner. Shirley called and said she and Rich wouldn't be there as she was very sick. She sent Rich over with the Blueberry Pie and Ice Cream. We did have a very nice visit with Aunt Ruth and Miriam. Dinner was awesome (Roast Leg of Lamb, Orzo Pilaf, Asparagus and of course Blueberry Pie and Ice Cream). Yummmmm it was all good if I must say so myself. After dinner we showed Aunt Ruth and Miriam our Paris pictures.

Tuesday I brought the computer into work and they cleaned the virus. When I got home from work the new router was there. After dinner Bob read the directions and followed them to a T. Still no Internet. He called Verizon again and insisted that someone come out to the house . They are coming today between 1:00 and 5:00. Bob has training today sooooo he can't take off. Yeah I have the afternoon off even though I have to be home and wait for the Verizon tech. I am also going to ask him if he will set up the HD TV and box up in the spare bedroom. WOW 2 people and 3 TVs. This TV is not going to have a VCR hooked up to it so I will be able to watch what I want when I want without worrying if Bob is taping something.

I have been stitching a little. I am working every morning on the Mill Hill Frosty ornament. I started the beading. I think it is going to be so cute. I am also stitching on the P38 Lighting I am making for Bob. It is a very slow stitch since it has lots of fractional stitched. They are difficult to do on Aida. Luckily for me the fabric is very soft which makes them a little easier.

I talked to Sue last night. Blow by blow of what is going on in her life. She is looking into getting Verizon FIOS. It may end up costing her less than her cable, phone and Internet service she has now. She is looking forward to my coming down in May. Should be a good time as I haven't seen her in a long time.

Well I better get back to work. I only have an hour before I go home for the day.
