WIP and Ornament Tree

I wasn't going to post a picture of Bridge in Monet's Garden this week, but I wanted to keep posting my progress weekly just so I can see I am making some progress.

The ornament tree decked out in patriotic ornaments
I started stitching another patriotic ornament yesterday but only put in about 10 stitched.  Well it is a start.

A day at Longwood Gardens.

Bob took Thursday and Friday off as vacation days.  Thursday was his birthday and thanks to a gift certificate I got when I retired we spent the day at Longwood Gardens.  They had an amazing Lily display in the conservatory and the roses were blooming.  It was beautiful to say the least.  Here are some pictures.  Hope you enjoy them.

Even though it was hot, hot, hot we had a great day.  It was the first time Bob had been to Longwood Gardens in the summer.  We ate lunch at the Terrace Restaurant and had ham and cheese sandwiches with fig, mushroom soup and then for dessert Bob had a lemon tart and I had a chocolate chip cannoli.  A little to much to eat on a hot day but it was good.

Patriotic Finishes

I know this is my 2nd post of the day.  However, I have spent the last couple of hours finishing my Patriotic Ornaments for my ornament tree and I want to show them off.  lol   I thought that since next week is Memorial Day I needed to get myself in gear and get these finished.

I also bought some red, white, and blue stars to fill out the tree.  They are really to big for the tree but they will due until I can get some more ornaments stitched.

Much better week this week since Bob is back to work.  I worked on Wednesday so that was a wasted day as far as things around the house but the money will be nice.  Tuesday I house cleaned my office.  I still have to vacuum the carpeting but I will get that done.  I am going back into work for a little while on Monday morning, but it shouldn't be for long.  This weekend isn't going to be good for getting our planting done.  It is suppose to rain.  They keep saying showers so I hope we can get some things done.

WIP Update and a small finish

This is my weekly WIP update on Bridge in Monet's Garden.  Just a little progress on page 2 this week.  I am also posting a picture of a patriotic ornament I finished on May 1.

Bob and I had a wonderful dinner on Wednesday night at Cab Frye's.  One of our favorite restaurants.

The weather here today is wonderful.  In the low 70s and sunny.  I spend an hour or so weeding the front garden so Bob and do some tilling and plant the Pieries we bought Wednesday.  We need to get some other plantings for out there but at least this is a start.  I hope it doesn't die like the other things we have planted there in the last couple of years.  I will get out there and finish picking up the sticks under the red maples next week when he isn't home to give me instructions.  You would think I don't know anything about gardening to hear him give me instructions.  He is tilling the vegetable garden and a little strip in front of it today.  Hopefully tomorrow we can get some things planted.  I love the spring and working outside except for the BUGS.

26 years ago today

Bob and I got married.  Here is a picture of us on our wedding day.  It doesn't seem possible that we have been married so long.  Some days it feels like 90 years and other days it feels like yesterday.  I wouldn't change a thing.  Happy Anniversary my love.
