Our Trip to Paris - Saturday 9/20 and Sunday 9/21

Bob and I took an 11 day trip to Paris between 9/20/2014 and 10/01/2015.  I have written a journal of the trip and would like to share it with some pictures.  Now I am not posting all of our pictures and Bob took over 1500 and I took a little over 2050.  I am just going to show some of the highlights.

9/20/2014 – 9/21/2014 Saturday and Sunday

Left home around 10:00 AM and caught shuttle to the airport at the Courtyard Marriot in Collegeville

Flew from Philadelphia to Washington Dulles and then on to Paris Charles DeGaul.  Arrived 7:08 AM Paris time on Sunday morning.  It was a good flight.

We arrived at our hotel, Best Western St. Antoine Patio and glory-be our room was ready 30 minutes after we arrived.  We spent that half hour talking to our tour director, Patrick Long.  Who had been our tour excellent tour director in 2008 also.

After taking a 2 hour rest we took a walk around the area of our hotel.  We walked to a street market several blocks from our hotel.  Fruits and vegetables. Nothing we were interested in but it was beautiful produce – and what a crowd.

Lunch

Le Funambules, a café for lunch

Bob:  Assiette De Charcuterie  (assortment of sausages)

Iris had Crostini w/ tomatoes, eggplant and cheese melted all over it.

We both had wine, Graves

We walked back to our hotel and rested until it was time to meet our tour group to go over some things with Patrick. Then the tour group went to dinner.

Dinner

God Save the Kitchen which was right up the street from our hotel/

We had

Kir sauvignon

Melted Camembert with honey and rosemary

Melon de Provence

Grilled free range chicken, gratin dauphinois ( potato gratin)

Vanilla Homemade ice cream, small wedge of cheese cake and chocolate cake

And a glass of   Sauvignon de Tourraine  “les Roches”

Then back to our hotel and ready for bed.  It had been a long 2 days.
